A growing number of ALSA's supporters are taking advantage of contributing gifts of long-term appreciated securities to support the mission of The ALS Association.

The advantages of making a gift of securities include:

• An income tax charitable deduction based on the market value of the security at the time of the gift
• Avoidance of capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the securities

Valuation

The value of your gift will be the average of the high and low trading prices on the official date of your gift. The official date of your gift will be determined differently depending on how your gift is made. Please consult your tax or financial advisor for more information.
